In the year 1920’s, Poblacion was known by its name “POBLADO” which refers to densely populated area, hence the name poblacion was derived from the leader during that time was known as “Teniente del Barrio.”
When martial law was declared by the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos in September 21, 1972, all barrios throughout the country were changed to barangay, the semblance of the restoration of ancient political institution, the origin was indigenous to our race, in which the citizen assembly could legislate for themselves in matters of immediate concern so that the democratic cry of power by the people will have authentic validity.
